Maximum File Size

The maximum file size limit is account dependent, but can be increased by contacting your account representative if the default (typically 5-10 GB) is not sufficient.

We are bound to the Outlook attachment size limit, to work around this you can use the desktop client directly, the web interface, or increase the attachment size limit

If you are seeing errors while uploading a large file this may be browser related. Browsers actually have a default limit of 2GB for uploads depending on the browser, but LeapFILE has bypassed this limit by using our Java add-in which can upload almost any size file. Unfortunately Java is only compatible with Internet Explorer browsers at this time.

Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox no longer support the Java applet but do support the new HTML5 uploader which has a max 4GB file size limit.

For external (non-LeapFILE) users/clients this feature is found by using the Enhanced Upload (Java or New HTML5) button on your LeapFILE Secure Upload page,

or for LeapFILE users/customers by using the Add File(s) and Folder(s) button

LeapFILE users are also able use the (Outlook compatible - though Outlook may have an attachment size limit, default is typically 25MB. Please contact your local IT team for more information on Outlook size limits).

You can work around the Outlook limit by using the LeapFILE Desktop client - which has no file size restrictions, though is account dependent. It can be increased by contacting your account representative if the default (typically 5-10 GB) is not sufficient. This is the recommended method for all large transfers when possible!
